What I am buying:

If you use a new MacBook then you know how bad the keyboards are.  If you also own an iPad then you also know that there aren’t very many good keyboard solutions out there either (I currently use a Brydge but its pretty heavy and bulky).  The keyboard struggle is real and this new keyboard promises to solve both issues in one.  I am looking forward to hopefully receiving mine once they get through the first production run.

For the past few months I have been looking for a solution to replace my kitchen oven with a smart oven that can be turned on with an app.  While doing my research I couldn’t find anything that was both  internet enabled and good quality.  But I came across this kick starter project which can internet enable any offline appliance or switch simply by physically pressing the on button when you use the app.  Still waiting on delivery of this genius product and I hope it can deliver as promised!

I suffer from chronic lower back pain yet I still workout everyday and usually use a foam roller to release the knotted fascia in my leg and back muscles.  I saw an ad on Instagram for this massage ball that turned out to be surprisingly very effective and the best workout recovery I use now. After 15 minutes of using it I am much looser and feel way better than using the foam roller.

What I am reading:

Brunello Cucinelli is my absolute favorite mens clothing line.  The quality of the clothes and their timeless design is unparalleled in my opinion.  I came across this article and before reading it, I didn't know anything about him.  After reading the interview he’s now one of my top ten most interesting businessmen that I follow.  Here’s an excerpt that explains him well:
"Brunello is part businessman, part philosopher and part monk. He is not Jeff Bezos or Larry Page. He certainly isn’t chief executive of an oil company. He is the anti-LVMH, and that is what makes him interesting."

The best quotes from my fellow Persian poet Rumi.  My favorite one is “The wound is the place where the Light enters you."

If you follow and ascribe to Ray Dalio’s investment theory then you agree with him that everything that happens can be categorized as “one of those things” that has already previously happened in history (I happen to think he is right). He gets into specifics about economic situations that are cycles and repeats of the past, but also applies this principle to every other current situation taking place in the world. I found this article to be super insightful and packed with info I never knew nor thought to even research about.

What I am watching:

I grew up watching Golden Girls on TV and loved it as a child and teenager (most people I tell this to think I am joking and laugh at me when they realize that I'm totally serious!).  If you liked that show then you will LOVE Grace & Frankie.

All I have to say is that if the next Messiah turns out to be a Hebrew speaking Persian - I’m all in.

I've been trying this new technique called ELDOA for my lower back pain.  Its only been a few weeks but  been has been surprisingly effective.  I had never heard of it before but my friend who plays gold all the time suggested it as many athletes are now using it to help them too.

What I am listening to:

A year ago I watched Donald Huffman’s TED Talk on Interface Theory and how reality is most likely a big illusion.  His thesis is that we will never be able to know the true nature of reality (and therefore never be able to understand everything) because reality is presented to us through our brains in a filtered dumbed down manner (much in the same way an operating system on a computer works).   An analogy he gives is when you move a file on your desktop into the trash bin; although it simply looks like it's going into the trash, what is really happening is something unknowable to the user with circuits, electricity and ones and zeros inside of the computer.  The true nature of things is abstracted away from you so that you can usefully live in it and not be overwhelmed with the every detail of how it works.  I happen to think he absolutely correct about this and if you want to learn more listen to this 3+ hour PODCast with him and Sam Harris. This is now my favorite PODCast of all time

Elad Gil is a super investor and technologist who spends a good deal of time talking about how he identifies interesting markets and companies in this interview.  He’s involved in companies like Airbnb, Coinbase, Instacart, Opendoor, Stripe, Square, and Pinterest.

The first time I heard DJ Behrouz play was in Greece a few summers ago.  Ever since then I’be been a die hard fan of his vocal subliminal house sets and have gone to see him play a few times at his place here in Miami called Do Not Sit on the Furniture.  This is one of his famous DJ sets live in Romania that I have been listening to on repeat .
